“There is something about plants floating on top of water that seems to captivate people. It’s like magic. Adults who were otherwise in a hurry to get somewhere stop at the banks of lily ponds and simply stare. Children get on their hands and knees and crawl right up to the bank of the pond with an outstretched hand, teetering on the edge while parents who were staring at the glassy water, realize only just in the nick of time, that they need to pull their child back from the edge, lest they fall in! Magic! Whatever it is that gives lilies the power to captivate we humans in such a way, I hope that some small piece of that power is here in this photo for all of you to enjoy!”
